Understated snout to tail butcher based restaurant. Quality is the key ingredient throughout: top quality ingredients, execution, ambiance, and service.
The vibe is upscale edgy hunting lodge.
I had the antelope lettuce wraps. They were absolutely perfect. The texture. The flavor. The balance of fat to spice. Great use of leftover off cuts of both meat and vegetables. It took what could have been garbage and made it one of the most flavorful, texture filled, and filling lunches I have had in a long time.
I adored the fresh house made grapefruit spritzer (I had them hold the simple syrup) which was a great accompaniment to my meal.
I enjoyed the French press tea, but would have thought with a French press I would get more than one cup of tea.
The house cured bacon 🥓 was a soft chew texture - I personally like my bacon a little crisper - but the flavor was excellent.
I will come back again and again. Great spot for the meat lover in your life. Awesome date spot or great for a bro’s brunch. (I saw a few different tables occupied by groups of male friends and/or coworkers.)
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We got to try a lot of their menu and were impressed by almost every single morsel. Standouts for us were the cold cut board, wild mushrooms, and the 59 day dry aged wagyu ribeye. This restaurant really highlighted the quality of Texas’s ingredients and we couldn’t be happier to have spent our last night of our vacation here!
After sorting though a lot of brunch recommendations around Austin, chose this place to go while friends were in town for a representation of Austin food.
We were NOT disappointed and didn’t have one bad bite during the brunch! The breakfast pastries were a big hit, normally something we wouldn’t order, but they were conveniently placed in sight of our travel…you gotta do what you gotta do.
My friend said that the cherry donut was probably the best she has ever had and the pumpkin kolache was just perfect as well.
We shared 4 entries (see pics)and would honestly order it all again. Can’t wait to be back!
Truly an amazing place to eat if you’re a meat lover. Everything about Dai Due is unique - the first half of the restaurant is a store where rubs, meats, pickled veggies, frozen goods, and swag items are sold; the second half is the actual restaurant and the theming is rustic but charming, sort of like walking into a colonial outpost. The menu items are VERY unique and adventurous and almost all are based around protein (antelope, boar, sheep, etc). I got a breakfast platter and the sausage made from pork and antelope was my favorite, and my friend got the award winning wagyu cheeseburger and she loved it. The menu is different for brunch and dinner and some day soon I hope to come back to try out their dinner menu!
I honestly don’t know why it’s taken us so long to try out Dai Due. We came on the Saturday post thanksgiving with a last minute reservation I made an hour before for 3 indoors. If it was a little warmer, I would have loved to sit outside because it looked super cute.
Between the 3 of us we got a coffee cake to start, a burger with a side of beef fat fries, the Dai Due breakfast and the Cemita Ahogada. Everything was delicious! Our server Jordan was wonderful. I don’t have a single bad thing to say. Maybe parking would’ve been harder if we hadn’t gone on a slower weekend 🤷🏻‍♀️
Anyways this is now one of my favorite restaurants in the city. So good!
If you are visiting Austin, do not miss this spot. I came for brunch and had the apple sourdough pancake with wild boar sausage and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Just delicious. And a wonderful atmosphere too. I’ll be back!
Excellent restaurant. Charming inside dining or lovely and shady dog-friendly patio dining.
Many of the meats are wild game which is not my thing, but the burgers have won some awards and are Wagyu beef so plenty of other brunch options to please.
Our server, Andre, was excellent, attentive and helpful.
In spite of it being a harrowing hot Texas summer, the shade of grapevines overhead cooled the patio for our brunch.
They even brought dog bowls of water for the dogs.
Charcuterie board was great but it really needed some cheese to round it out in my option.
Chicken hearts on skewers were enjoyed by our tablemate who is familiar and can rarely find them.
Great sized side salad that was large and flavorful.
The burgers and fries were the star of the show. I actually thought them might be more tender and perhaps could have been cooked less but honestly the taste was SO good that it didn't matter. Great flavor components.
Very good brunch cocktails as well.
Came here for breakfast. Ordered the Central Texas Breakfast. Grits were outstanding. Very creamy. Was not so keen on the boar boudin. It was made as a patty and I didn't care for the texture. Was hoping it was more the link type of sausage. The rest of my food was great. Potatoes weren't very warm but still crunchy and tasty. Mimosas are made with fresh squeezed OJ and tasted great. A good place for breakfast in Austin!
